Thank you Donna Jones, Hampshire and IOW Police and Crime Commissioner, Inspector Korine Bishop, the Countrywatch lead, Gary Brown, WCC lead on fly tipping and Gary MaCulloch, the community Safety Officer for Swanmore, Owslebury, Waltham Chase and Soberton, for an informative Rural Crime Forum. We heard about all different strategies that our police are using to prevent rural crime. It is very important that people report any incident. Donna talked about the extra 600 police officers that she is recruiting to help with rural policing. We heard from Gary about how he investigates and prosecutes flytippers. Lastly, Gary McCulloch talked about his work reducing crime and antisocial behaviour in the villages where he is employed by the parish councils. He has a very good knowledge of any issues going on and I often contact him to help with residents issues. We need a Gary in every village and I was pleased to see so many parish councillors present who were interested in this initiative. Thank you to all the panellists for their contributions and for the excellent work that they are doing. My next forum is on health on 18th November when we have another excellent panel to help answer questions from constituents. Contact my office for further information.
